Google Docs is an attachment of the Google Drive software that allows you to share your work with other people through an account using your email. It allows you to work on the same project at the same time as someone else on another computer. This is a great way to share work when completing a project with a partner or a group of people. Google Docs is a great tool in school and most students use it as a “USB Drive’’ by saving work onto their Google Docs account from school and then being able to work on it at home. Google Docs created its presentation program on September 17, 2007. I am very familiar with the presentation tool that Google Docs produced. Although it may not have the same effects and simple software of Microsoft, the presentation format is an excellent way to show a presentation and it allows people on different computer to work on it at the same time.
Many
businesses are attracted to Google Docs due to their terrific multi-computer
use and it’s free of charge. Most presentations completed in the work force are
worked on by more than one person and Google Docs allows you to work on a
project with multiple team members very easily. A company that is used all
around the world can benefit from the use of Google Docs as well due to their
language adapter mode. This allows a user to write a whole presentation in any
language and be able to change it to any other language. This allows businesses
to communicate with each other more easily. Google Docs Presentation is a great
tool in the business world.
In my
opinion, Google Docs is the best socially equipped presentation software in the
world. Up to 8-9 people can work on one project at once. This has never been
done before. This allows people to work more efficiently together. Google Docs
Presentation also established a chat session on the side on your presentation
in which you can communicate with other people that are working on the same
project as you. This also allows for more efficient work between work members.
One bad
aspect of Google Docs Presentation is the difficultly in adding effects to your
presentation. One key aspect to a solid presentation is the ability to keep
your audience involved and motion effects are one way to do this. In my
experience with Google Docs presentation, they lack a variety of effects and I
felt like my presentation was boring. They had very few entrance and exit
effects compared to the multifold of choices that Microsoft PowerPoint
supplies. This could be a reason why most people in the business world use
Microsoft PowerPoint to create presentations. Microsoft PowerPoint is actually a lot easier
to use too. Google Docs seems to freeze a lot when working at the same time as
someone else and this can easily frustrate a user. I’ve experienced this when
writing an essay with my partner. We tried to work on it at the same time but
it froze very often and it was very hard to write and get your thoughts across
while it keeps freezing.
Overall,
I personally think Google Docs Presentation is a great tool for any student or
business owner. It’s a great way to work together with other people and it
allows for an easier and more efficient way of completing work.
